Syrah

It is considered that it comes from Middle East, and of the area of Shiraz, city of the old Persia. Its plantation in the region of the Ródano, in France, dates of the time of the Romans. It was introduced to half of the XIX century in Australia and that explains the strong Australian presence in this cepaje. In the Argentina it grew very much their plantation in the last ten years to be very well a grape adapted to the hot climate of the counties. It called it to him mistakenly balsamina during time. It is a wide wine, very soft in mouth, with strong aromas to spices and leathers. In advance goes improving to give a wine with a lot of personality.

Of origin Francés, is it mainly in the Valley of the Rodano being part of big court wines as L´Hermitage, Chateauneuf du Pape, Cote Rotie.

They give very vigorous wines, solids, rich in tannins and of long conservation for what sits down him very well the upbringing in wood and aging in bottle. Their intense aromas remind us to red fruits, spices and leather.

The same as the Malbec in Argentina, the Syrah or Shiraz has adapted very well in Australia, giving excellent wines varietales and bivarietales (blend with Cabernet Sauvignon)

In Argentina this variety offers a promising future in San Juan's province

The food

This variety is ideal for maridar with hunt meats (Boar and Deer). it is very well with turkey meat and sauces with the help of mustard. Sausages and cold cuts are good company for this varietal.
