Other varieties white wine

Chenin Blanc

It is originating of the Valley of the Loire in France , where is adapted very well to produce dry wines, licorosos and until foamy. In Argentina it is very cultivated and their aroma remembers citric notes and also of quince, honey and linden. Their qualitative potential is still little exploded and it is very present in San Rafael 's area.

Ugni Blanc

Of Italian origin, where calls himself trebbiano, it is a grape of great production in Argentina and it is used like base for court wines. It has a fruit-bearing aroma and certain acidity.

Tocai Friulano

It doesn't have anything to do with the famous Tokay of Hungary and it is originating of the northwest of Italy . It also calls it to him sauvignonasse (not to confuse with sauvignon) gives very aromatic wines.

Pinot Blanco

Originating of the east of France , in Alsace , it has characteristic that make it confuse with the chardonnay for their citric, floral aroma and notes of honey.

Traminer / Gewürtztraminer

Of Italian origin, a confusion has been generated between the traminer and the gewürtztraminer, because in German "gewürtz" it means especiado, and it could be a variant. However, it is difficult to find a characteristic species. In Alsace ( France ), from 1973, it is denominated gewürtztraminer. The term traminer is used in other regions by the same grape, but can have variations for the color of the skin. It gives very perfumed wines and of aroma frutado (rose, violet, jasmine) very near to the torrontés. It is for example in the area of Tupungato .

Pedro Jiménez

It is not considered like a grape of High Aptitude Enológica. Originating of Spain , where it was used to elaborate the sherry, it is in doubt their true origin in Argentina . It is broadly diffused in Mendoza and San Juan and it is used for court wines.
