East Area

To the east of Mendoza's city and having more or less as axis the National Route 7 that it takes to Buenos Aires, is San Martin's departments, Rivadavia, Junín, Santa Rosa and The Peace, where areas more desérticas appear, of about 500 meters high average on the level of the sea, with sandy and stony floors.

It is the area more important producer of the country with some 90.000 there is in so much production of grapes inks as rosy and white.

The elaboration leans fundamentally to the table wines and concentrated grape juice, although the production of fine wines already began of very characteristic auspiciosas.

The watering comes mainly from derivations of the river Mendoza and of the Tunuyán.

Cellars like Tittarelli, Llaver, Gallant, Crotta, Orfila, Fantelli and Luis Second Belts have carried out strong investments dedicated to the elaboration of fine wines in this area.
