European naturalists who visited the region century XVIII by the end of, called "pejerrey" (fish of kings) to fish that called their attention, by their similarity to another species highly considered by the Spanish royalty.
From the point of view of the amount of fishermen that mobilizes, the pejerrey is the fish of greater sport importance in Argentina. The cultores of their fishing are million, by their abundance, its dispersion, the proximity to the great urban centers and because as much the fish as their fishing is attractive.
