Fishing in the province of Buenos Aires has a clear cut season. The fishing of the mackerel stands out in winter and the tararira in summer.
In the Paraná and de La Plata rivers, dorado, surubí, boga, carps, bagres and tarariras can be caught. The varied fishing in piers or coasts of the Río Paraná or islands of the Delta is practiced during the whole year, but during the summer there are more varieties of species. It stands out in San Pedro's area or the Rio de La Plata , the capture of the dorado.
The sea fishing, either in Pinamar, Villa Gesell or Santa Clara like in Bahía Blanca 's islands and San Blas, is featured by the catching of shark pieces, gatuso, cazón, gatopardo, etc. In Mar del Plata and Necochea, mackerel is obtained in winter as well as brótola, corvine, sole, mere and whiting in the summer.
The Salado river runs along the whole province, from west to east, and it offers the possibility of a good catching of mackerel during the whole year.
In summer the channels and streams of the System of the Salado attract the followers of the fishing of the lisa which requires a lot of technique.
In the lagoons of the province, it is plentiful the mackerel or silver arrow, when winter begins, it swims fast in the search for lake phytoplancton to feed. It is possible to go into in the lagoons by means of the rent of boats and fishing circuits.
The abundance and quality of the mackerel satisfy the expectations of the fishermen in the different lagoons. Big pieces with a weight of more than 1 Kilo and for those fishermen who are happy to fulfill the allowed quota of not more than 25 pieces a day and fisherman, although there are lagoons with exceptions. For the mackerel fishing, it is necessary to have telescopic rod of 3.90 to 4.20 meters long, with simple front reel which contains 100 multithread meters or nylon 0.30 absorbed in floatlines.
As apparel, three different types are used; those which come off branches with fishhooks where an alive bait is hooked. As the mackerel feeds from the phytoplancton which is plentiful during summer, the fishing of the mackerel is replaced by that of the tararira.
This fish posses a powerful denture and hunter habits. For catching it, natural bait or lures are used. In the transparent waters of the Sierra de La Ventana or in some fish-and- pay of Balcarce,rainbow trout can be caught. |
