Catritre Beach and Quila Quina Village

A walk to a place with beautiful beaches, an organized camping site, proveeduría, a rural school, a denominated interpretation path "The Cipresal", paintings rupestres, a source of water mineral, a couple of restaurants and a lot of nature.

Leave San Martín de los Andes by National Route 234, also named "de los 7 Lagos" and after driving for 4 kilometers you will see to your right, the road that leads to Catritre Beach. The road zigzags down to a beach on Lake Lacar. Here there is a camping site, restaurant, rest rooms and fire hearths to grill your own food.

On National Route 234 once again and after only one kilometer you will notice the road to the Quila Quina Village. Take it and calculate almost 12 kilometers until you reach this small village. The road is a winding mountain road with a lot of traffic in the Summer. After having done 7 kilometers more or less, the road starts winding down the side of the mountain and you will see a great view on the village and of Lake Lacar.

Just before entering the village, you will notice to your left, a big water tank and a cattle guard railing. Make a stop and take a walk up to the waterfall of the Arroyo Grande river. The water leaps among huge boulders and the path is very well marked.

Back on the road you reach Quila Quina. Although this road ends at the pier, you will find several others to wander around. What can be found at this place?. Well, nice beaches, a well organized camping site, a store, a rural school, a trail called "El Cipresal", Indian paintings, a thermal water fountain, a couple of restaurants and of course, the surrounding nature.
