The province of La Pampa is located in the center of the country. their territory is part of the plain pampeana.

The pampas is divided administratively in 33 departments. Lima to the north with Mendoza's counties, San Luis, and Córdoba to the east, with Buenos Aires to the south, with Río Negro; and to the west, with Mendoza.

The Pampas has a surface of 143.440 km2'. In 2001 its population belonged to 299.294 inhabitants, of which 149.169 were male and 150.125, women. The capital is Santa Rosa, and some of its main cities; they are: General Pico, General Acha and Eduardo Castex.
