In 1587 the Order arrives for the first time in Córdoba and in 1599 the parents Jesuit arrive to that Romero and Darío, coming from Lima .

The Town council solves to give them an apple so that they build its residences and settle in definitive form. This way, and with the neighbors' donations the construction of the Jesuit House of Córdoba begins. Interested in taking "their work of catequización of the souls and their defense action and propagation of the faith" ahead and before the lack of resources to stay, they try to establish a country property with livestock near the city.

In 1604, the Order is divided administratively in 2 areas the first one the Jesuit County of the Paraguay it is believed that embraced the governments of Paraguay , Chile and Tucumán, with capital in Córdoba where the Provincial Father, his maximum authority resided and where was mainly to the educational activity of the order.

The other area created was the Guarani Jesuit State that embraced the counties of Misiones and parts of the Paraguay and that they had as main function the evangelism of the Indian Guarani and the production of matters cousins.
