La Plata is the capital city of the province. It was founded by Dardo Rocha in the year 1882, it is one of the few cities built on a plan predetermined urbanistic. It has six parks, and some twenty squares. The original appearance of the project of the city got lost, what was a great mystery, since is ignored the text of the foundation exactly.

The city almost gathers all the existent architectural styles, being a peculiar city. The Municipal Palacio is the german architect's work U. Stier. It is front the Square Moreno. Near the square San Martín they are the Palacio of the Legislature and Government's House, of French Renaissance style.

The cathedral belongs to the Gothic style, it is located among the streets 14 among 51 53. It is work of Benoît, inspired by the cathedrals of Colony and Amiens. The vitrales of the cathedral is replicas of those of the Cathedral of Chartres. The roseta of the front resembles each other to that of Notre Dame in Paris.
