A touristic alternative very much requested today is to live and lodge with the visionary impression of the first settlers, the best reason to visit two estancias in the region, where pleasure and awe are guaranteed.

To 120 km . from Río Grande the historic cask of Estancia Cabo San Pablo next to a lodging house for six persons constitutes the base of a forcible proposal to leave civilization and let yourserf be wrapped by the absolute and emblematic southern silence.
One important detail: in the house it is not allowed to smoke.

All trails in Estancia San Pablo lead to Boquerón summer pasture fields next to the imposing waters of Lake Fagnano , the sixth biggest one in South America , an ideal place for sport fishing where you can see albatrosses, petrels ans kelp geese.
From May to October the area is not accessible due to the harsh cold weather.

As soon as the weather becomes milder, you can go on a wonderful visit to Boquerón forest near Tierra del Fuego National Park .
You will be walking through pebble beaches kissed by the greenish blue waters of the lake while silence is pusshed to the abyss by the west wind.

This simple house of typical Fuegian architecture -metal sheets and colored wood planks- will be the ideal shelter to plan a horseback riding or a hiking outing in the area.

Ocher tones and solitude sculped by pioneers reveal a history of shipwrecks, of the destructive action of beavers and of the permanent adversity of the end of the world in a geography not meant for ordinary people.

On you way back you will eat patagonian lamb roasted on a spit, a special dish to connect back to the worldly pleasures after the enchantment produced by the overwhelming surrounding landscape.
